Lucas, and Callie has been best friends since childhood. Lucas is married, but his wife cannot get pregnant. Callie agrees to be their surrogate. She finds out she is pregnant when Lucas's wife leaves him, asking for a divorce. There was always a special bond that went beyond friendship that simmered between Callie, and Lucas. The two didn't fight for it, and was afraid to embrace the love between them. Callie had a rotten childhood. I get that. I did too. half of all the children in the world had a crappy childhood. Callie's self doubts, said over, and over throughout the book made me want to put my head through a brick wall. I can see reading a message once or twice, but any more than that is just annoying.
I did finish this book. I have to say I had never been more happy to finish a book. I enjoyed the ending. I'm glad the two decided to go for it, and give each other a chance. this book is the perfect example of the quote, " In the end we only regret the chances we didn't take." Thank goodness the two took the chance, and fought for the love that was right there the whole time.

Decisions are not always easy to implement .
A waste of time and money. Puerile even by light romance standards. At times read like a transcript of student notes. Flat and boring.
